Abel Arroyo Yanez Obituary, Death – A man who was wounded in a shooting on September 5 in Spartanburg County has succumbed to his injuries. According to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office, 21-year-old Abel Arroyo Yanez passed away early Sunday morning at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Yanez was shot on West Blackstock Road the previous Thursday afternoon. Following the incident, deputies arrested the suspect, 25-year-old Cristobal Avila. Avila was initially detained and later hospitalized for a potential drug overdose.
The coroner’s office will determine the manner of death after reviewing all evidence related to the case. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the shooting.
