Alyssa Mackinnon Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the woman who died last week after being rescued from the Housatonic River in Seymour. The victim has been named as 30-year-old Alyssa Mackinnon, whose most recent residence was in Fairfield, according to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening when authorities received a call at approximately 6:15 p.m. about an individual in distress in the river. Boaters who were on the river at the time discovered the paddleboarder and managed to bring her to shore. She was subsequently transported to a hospital, but despite medical efforts, Mackinnon was pronounced dead upon arrival.
