Andrew Allison, Terry Ledbetter Obituary, Death – A tragic two-vehicle collision in Harrison County resulted in the deaths of two Texas drivers after one failed to stop at a posted traffic sign. The crash occurred in the early morning hours of March 27 at the intersection of Texas Highway 43 and Fyffe Cutoff.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), authorities were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:05 a.m. Upon arrival, investigators determined that both drivers had died at the scene due to the impact of the collision.
DPS officials reported that Andrew Allison, a 44-year-old resident of Carthage, was behind the wheel of an SUV, traveling west along Fyffe Cutoff. Meanwhile, 69-year-old Terry Ledbetter, from Marshall, was driving a pickup truck southwest along Highway 43.
Based on the preliminary investigation, Allison reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection, leading to a violent collision with Ledbetter’s pickup truck. The force of the crash proved fatal for both drivers, who succumbed to their injuries before emergency responders arrived.
Authorities have not indicated whether any other factors, such as speed or impairment, played a role in the wreck. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident remains ongoing.
