Anna Jacobson, Jose Avina Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified both individuals who were fatally struck by a Metrolink train in Lake Balboa earlier this week.
The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner confirmed that 31-year-old Anna Jacobson was one of the victims, identifying her on Tuesday. The second victim, 34-year-old Jose Avina, was named on Wednesday.
The fatal incident occurred on Monday evening in the 17000 block of Roscoe Boulevard, near Balboa Boulevard. Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene at approximately 6:12 p.m. following reports of a train colliding with two pedestrians.
Upon arrival, firefighters assessed the situation and pronounced both individuals dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet determined the circumstances that led to the victims being struck by the train, and the incident remains under investigation.
