Colter Kerfoot Obituary, Death – A 31-year-old Creston man lost his life in a motorcycle accident Wednesday night after an attempt to pass a semi-truck resulted in a collision with a passing vehicle, authorities said.
Crash Details
The Medina County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash occurred just before 8 p.m. on State Route 3 (Wooster Pike) near Mud Lake Road in Seville. Deputies responded to a 911 call regarding an accident involving a motorcycle and a GMC Sierra pickup truck.
According to investigators, the motorcyclist, identified as Colter Kerfoot, was traveling southbound behind a semi-tractor and trailer. In an attempt to pass the truck, Kerfoot moved into the opposite lane but had to swerve suddenly to avoid an oncoming vehicle. This maneuver caused him to lose control of his motorcycle, leading to his ejection onto the roadway.
Fatal Collision
After being thrown from his motorcycle, Kerfoot landed in the southbound lane. A GMC Sierra, unable to stop in time, struck him before he could move to safety. Emergency responders arrived and attempted lifesaving measures, but Kerfoot was pronounced dead at the scene.
