At 11:03 a.m., law enforcement received multiple 911 calls regarding a pedestrian accident on VT-9, close to the Hogback Mountain Scenic Overlook, as stated by the Vermont State Police.
This overlook, which is associated with the Hogback Mountain Country Store, is situated at an elevation of 2,250 feet along Route 9, as indicated on the website.
Troopers arrived at the location, assisted by Deerfield Valley Rescue and the Marlboro Fire Department, where a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado had collided with the pedestrian, according to the statement.
Vrooman was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by officials. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
