Crimea Malita Baker, Sean Antoine Lange Obituary, Death – The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) has identified the two victims found dead in a New Market home on Sunday morning. On August 25, around 7 a.m., deputies responded to a call about a shooting at a residence on the 7000 Block of Mandalong Court. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals with multiple gunshot wounds in an upstairs bedroom. The victims were identified as 33-year-old Crimea Malita Baker from New Market and 34-year-old Sean Antoine Lange from Arlington, Virginia.
Preliminary findings indicate that Baker and Lange were shot around 1:30 a.m. on the same day. Four children were present in the home at the time of the incident but were unharmed. Investigators revealed that Baker and Lange were likely cohabitating at the time of their deaths. Baker was the mother of all four children found in the house, while Lange was the father of one of the children, as stated by the FCSO.
Sheriff Chuck Jenkins described the incident as a “heinous targeted double murder” fueled by “rage and anger.” He assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community and emphasized that all available resources will be utilized to solve the case. “This is the type of crime that shocks the conscience of Frederick County residents,” he added.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the FCSO is treating the case as a double murder. Authorities have indicated there is no evidence suggesting the crime was random.
