Damon Elliott Joseph Obituary, Death – Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly crash that took place on Interstate 81 in Montgomery County late Sunday night.
The accident happened around 10:40 p.m. near Route 232 when a 2025 Volvo NVL tractor-trailer traveling north veered off the left side of the road. The vehicle crashed through a guardrail and overturned.
The driver, identified as 49-year-old Damon Elliott Joseph of Lafayette, Louisiana, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation as officials work to determine what led to the fatal crash.
