David Hogbin Obituary, Death – An Australian physician has been confirmed as the individual who lost his life to a crocodile after he fell from the riverbank in Queensland’s northeastern region, as reported by local media on Tuesday. David Hogbin, a 40-year-old medical professional from New South Wales, was with relatives when he plunged into the Annan River near Cooktown in Far North Queensland and did not resurface on Saturday, according to ABC News Australia.
On Tuesday, law enforcement officials announced that human remains had been discovered within a crocodile that was euthanized in Cooktown on Monday. “A formal identification process is currently in progress. However, it is believed that the remains belong to a missing 40-year-old man from New South Wales,” stated the Queensland Police Service. “Additional testing will be carried out to confirm the identity.”
The 4.9-meter crocodile was killed by wildlife rangers as part of the search efforts for the missing individual, who is thought to have been taken by the creature after falling into the Annan River, as reported by the Cairns Post, a prominent newspaper in Far North Queensland.
The crocodile was found 4 kilometers upstream from Crocodile Bend, the location where the man fell into the river. The reptile, which is believed to have pulled the man underwater in front of his family, bore a distinctive mark on its snout, according to the Cairns Post.
