Deborah Barela Obituary, Death – A 62-year-old woman lost her life following a motorcycle accident on the service road of State Highway 71 over the weekend. Officers from the Austin Police Department arrived at the scene shortly before 9 p.m. on August 10. The incident occurred in the 2400 block of the East SH 71 service road.
The motorcyclist, identified as Deborah Barela, aged 62, was taken to a nearby hospital, where she subsequently passed away. This incident is currently under investigation and marks the 53rd fatal crash in Austin for the year 2024, contributing to a total of 56 fatalities thus far.
