Eric Irvin Obituary, Death – The Lake County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a man who was fatally shot in Zion early Friday morning as Eric Irvin, aged 39. An autopsy conducted on Irvin revealed that he succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, as stated by the coroner’s office.
Law enforcement officials responded to a residence located in the 2900 block of Elizabeth Avenue in Zion at approximately 2:40 a.m. on Friday following reports of gunfire, according to a press release from the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.
Upon arrival, police discovered Irvin inside the residence with gunshot injuries. He was subsequently transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Authorities suspect that Irvin was struck by gunfire originating from outside the home, indicating that the residence “was likely the intended target of the shooting.”
