The victims have been identified by detectives as 37-year-old Farooq Abdulrazak and 33-year-old Juan Cifuentes, both residents of north London. They were reported missing after failing to return from their business trip, as stated by the police.
The bodies of Abdulrazak and Cifuentes, both exhibiting signs of gunshot wounds, were found in a burned SUV on July 14. According to the BBC, law enforcement officials have indicated that both men were shot before the ignition of their vehicle.
In a statement released through British law enforcement, family members expressed their profound grief, stating, “We are sincerely devastated, broken in many ways words cannot describe. Family members characterized Abdulrazak as a “loving husband” with a “beautiful, selfless, humble soul,” who served as a “huge pillar in our family and community” and will be “sorely missed by everyone.”
Cifuentes was remembered as a “brilliant footballer and hardworking man” who brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds, leaving a significant impression on all who knew him. “His memory will forever inspire us,” his loved ones remarked. “We ask for your prayers and support but also space for his family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.”
