Francisco Javier Urrea Cebreros Obituary, Death – The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office has identified the jogger killed earlier this month in Fremont as Francisco Javier Urrea Cebreros, a 30-year-old resident of Hayward. The fatal incident occurred on August 4 at around 8:40 p.m. on Mission Boulevard near Nursery Avenue.
Cebreros, who went by Frank, was running when he was struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene on foot. Despite the efforts of first responders, Cebreros was pronounced dead at the site of the accident. A GoFundMe campaign set up for Cebreros had raised approximately $5,800 of its $10,000 goal as of Tuesday.
Police have identified the suspected driver as 29-year-old Brian Gutierrez, also from Hayward. Authorities contacted Gutierrez by phone and persuaded him to surrender himself. This incident marks the fifth fatal traffic collision in Fremont this year.
