Fred Morgan Viets Obituary, Death – Authorities from the state police have reported that a man from Willington was declared dead at the scene following a head-on collision that occurred on Tuesday evening. The incident took place on River Road/Route 32, close to the intersection with Battye Road, at approximately 5:30 p.m.
According to state police, a 2016 Ram Promaster 1500, travelling in a northbound direction, inexplicably crossed over the yellow line into the southbound lane, colliding with a 2020 Ram 5500. The driver of the 2016 vehicle, identified as 37-year-old Fred Morgan Viets, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver involved in the accident suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was subsequently taken to a hospital for medical attention.
