Garrett Randall Pace Obituary, Death – A motorcyclist who was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident in West Jordan on Tuesday night has passed away, police confirmed the following morning.
Victim Identified
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Garrett Randall Pace. According to authorities, Pace was struck by a dark-colored SUV near 8600 South and Redwood Road.
Crash and Emergency Response
A witness reported the crash around 8:30 p.m., prompting an immediate response from emergency personnel. When first responders arrived, they found Pace severely injured and rushed him to a local hospital. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
“We extend our sincerest condolences to Garrett’s family,” said West Jordan Police Detective Dirk Petersen in a statement.
Hit-and-Run Investigation
Authorities say the SUV involved in the crash fled the scene, traveling west on Gardner Lane before being last seen heading north on 3200 West Haun Drive. As of Wednesday morning, March 26, the vehicle has not been located.
Suspect Vehicle Description
Investigators believe the suspect’s vehicle is a 2003 to 2006 Chevy or GMC model. The SUV likely has significant damage to its passenger side, including the mirror, running board, and side windows.
