Haleigh Horger Obituary, Death – A 20-year-old woman from Akron, Haleigh Horger, tragically lost her life in a house fire on Saturday evening, as confirmed by the Summit County Medical Examiner. The incident occurred at a residence located in the 1100 block of Vernon Odom Blvd. around 5:50 p.m.
Upon arrival, Akron firefighters observed flames coming from the upper window and the side of the house. Fire crews quickly moved into action, and it was later reported that Horger was found in the attic of the home. She was immediately removed from the scene and transported to Cleveland Clinic-Akron General Medical Center, but sadly, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
In addition to Horger, a second person was inside the house at the time of the fire. This individual was also taken to a local hospital for medical attention, though their identity and condition have not been disclosed at this time.
During the firefighting efforts, two Akron firefighters sustained injuries. They were promptly taken to the same medical center, but fortunately, their injuries were not life-threatening.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the tragic incident.
