Howie Ireland Obituary, Death – The names of those involved in a fatal crash in Jackson County, South Dakota, have been released following the incident that occurred near Kadoka on Sunday. According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash took place on Interstate 90, near mile marker 135. An 80-year-old man, identified as Howie Ireland, was driving a Dodge truck eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle. The icy road conditions at the time contributed to the crash. Ireland’s vehicle crossed over the median and collided with both a car and a semi truck traveling westbound.
Sadly, Howie Ireland succumbed to his injuries on Monday at a hospital in Rapid City. The other parties involved in the crash were also impacted. The driver of the car, whose identity has not been revealed, sustained minor injuries, and an 11-year-old passenger in the car was seriously injured but is expected to recover. The driver of the semi truck was not injured in the crash. The incident is under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the accident.
