Jeremy J. Young Obituary, Death – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual who was struck and killed by a vehicle on the I-84 on-ramp last week. The victim, identified as 48-year-old Jeremy J. Young, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident that occurred on Thursday. Law enforcement officials have informed his family of his passing.
On August 8, officers from the Portland Police Department responded to reports of a collision on the westbound ramp of Interstate 84, originating from Interstate 205 southbound, shortly after 5 a.m.
Upon their arrival, they discovered a deceased male, later identified as Young, who appeared to have been walking on or attempting to cross the freeway. According to police, the driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The initial road closure and subsequent investigation resulted in significant delays for commuter traffic lasting several hours.
