Jesse Pimental Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Tompkinsville as 25-year-old Jesse Pimental of Oakwood. Police confirmed that Pimental, who lived on the 200 block of Corona Avenue, was killed in broad daylight around 2:30 p.m. on Friday on Bay Street.
By the time officials publicly released his name on Saturday, social media had already been flooded with emotional tributes from those who knew and loved him.
On Facebook, a relative posted a heartbreaking message expressing deep sorrow over his passing, writing, “I’m so… sorry I couldn’t save you…” Another person commented, “This is every family’s worst nightmare,” while others simply shared messages like “Rest in sweetest peace, Jesse.”
Pimental’s mother also took to social media to share her grief, describing her son as more than just family—he was a kind-hearted person who made a difference in the lives of those around him.
“Jesse was more than just my son; he was a kind, loving soul who touched the lives of everyone who knew him,” she wrote. “He had dreams, hopes, and a bright future ahead. His warm smile could light up any room, and his caring heart always put others before himself. Losing him in such a sudden and violent way has left a void that can never be filled.”

According to police, Pimental was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the torso when officers arrived at the scene. He was transported to Richmond University Medical Center in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.
Law enforcement sources and a witness at Tompkinsville Park reported that the shooting followed a dispute. Pimental had been involved in an argument with another individual before stepping into a KeyFood store nearby. When he exited the store a short time later, he was shot by a third person.
