Jessica Jo Gatlin Obituary, Death – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Midland bicyclist last week.
According to a crash report, the incident occurred around 7:39 p.m. on February 28 at the intersection of FM 1936 and Blair. Troopers responded to the scene to find that a Suzuki Grand Vitara had collided with a bicycle.
Investigators determined that the Suzuki was traveling south in the left lane on FM 1936 when the bicyclist, identified as 42-year-old Jessica Jo Gatlin of Midland, attempted to cross the road from west to east. She entered the vehicle’s path, resulting in the fatal crash.
Gatlin was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Suzuki was unharmed.
