Officers arrived on the scene shortly after to find 15-year-old Joaquin Ramirez dead from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Nearby, 19-year-old Hector Gonzalez Valdez, who had also been shot, was rushed to a hospital but later died from his injuries.
The investigation revealed that Williams had allegedly engaged in a brief conversation with Ramirez and Valdez on the sidewalk before suddenly pulling out a handgun and opening fire. Surveillance video obtained by detectives appears to show Williams shooting Valdez first. Despite his injuries, Valdez managed to return fire, shooting Williams in the hip. Williams then reportedly turned the gun on Ramirez, fatally shooting him multiple times.
