Jorge Meza Death News – The identity of the Michigan City police officer involved in the shooting death of an armed suspect last week has been disclosed.
Authorities report that Sergeant Michael Oberle is currently on administrative leave as the investigation continues, in accordance with standard procedures.
The incident began when 21-year-old Jorge Meza from South Bend fled from the officer during a traffic stop a week prior.
According to police, Meza was armed at the time, which resulted in the shooting. The prosecutor’s office is currently evaluating the results of the State Police investigation.
