Joseph Peggs Obituary, Death – Authorities in Wayne County are investigating a fatal accident involving a skid steer that claimed the life of a Cambridge City man.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 100 block of East North Street in Milton on Wednesday at approximately 12:29 p.m. after receiving a report of an unresponsive man.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the victim, later identified as 57-year-old Joseph Peggs, had been trapped beneath an overturned skid steer. Emergency responders worked quickly to free him from the heavy machinery and immediately provided medical assistance.
Peggs was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities described the incident as a tragic accident, though the exact circumstances leading to the skid steer’s overturning remain under investigation.
