Junior Garza Obituary, Death – A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in Portland’s Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood, and police are still searching for suspects.
The Portland Police Bureau identified the victim as Junior Garza of Gresham. Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 10:15 p.m. on March 18 in the 3000 block of Southeast 136th Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Garza suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite officers’ life-saving efforts, Garza was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner later confirmed his death as a homicide caused by gunshot wounds.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Meghan Burkeen or Detective Brian Sims, referencing case number 25-070043.
