Kaheed S. Oxendene Obituary, Death – Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle that occurred early Monday morning in Elbridge.
At approximately 5:59 a.m. on March 31, 2025, New York State Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at 488 Route 5. Upon arrival, troopers found a man lying in the roadway.
The injured motorcyclist was identified as 26-year-old Kaheed S. Oxendene of Elbridge. Investigators determined that Oxendene had been traveling westbound on Route 5 when his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle. The driver, later identified as 70-year-old Edward F. Lawyer of Syracuse, fled the scene following the collision.
Emergency responders transported Oxendene to Upstate Medical for evaluation. The extent of his injuries was not immediately disclosed.
Lawyer was later located and issued uniform traffic tickets for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Elbridge Court at a later date.
State Police have confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing.
