Kalise McGee, Eddy Deandre Bonner Obituary, Death – A devastating car crash early Wednesday morning claimed the lives of four individuals, including a 14-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man. Authorities have identified two of the victims as 14-year-old Kalise McGee and 18-year-old Eddy Deandre Bonner. The identities of the other two victims, believed to be young adults or teenagers, have not yet been released.
Crash Details
The accident occurred around 12:40 a.m. in the 2900 block of West 106th Street, between Madison and Western Avenues in Cleveland. The vehicle, a Hyundai Sonata, veered off the road and collided with two trees. According to investigators, the car was traveling at an “excessive speed” before the crash.
A neighbor told FOX 8 News that they heard a car racing down the street just moments before the impact. The high-speed collision caused severe damage, leaving the vehicle in pieces, which were later towed away.
All Four Victims Pronounced Dead at the Scene
Emergency responders from Cleveland EMS arrived at the scene but found all four individuals dead upon arrival. Investigators revealed that three passengers were ejected from the vehicle, while the driver remained inside.
“This is an absolute tragedy to have four young people killed in this type of accident,” said Cleveland Police Chief Dorothy Todd in a Wednesday press briefing.
Car Was Reported Stolen
Authorities confirmed that the Hyundai Sonata involved in the crash had been reported stolen from a home on Wichita Drive on February 27. The owner stated that he last saw the vehicle parked outside his residence before it disappeared.
It remains unclear who was driving the car at the time of the crash, and investigators are working to determine how the teens gained access to the stolen vehicle.
Ongoing Investigation
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office is working alongside Cleveland police to confirm the identities of the remaining two victims and determine additional factors contributing to the crash. Officials are also examining whether drugs or alcohol played a role, although speed is currently considered the primary factor.
Authorities are urging the public to avoid reckless driving and emphasize the dangers of speeding, particularly among young drivers.
Community Reacts to Tragic Loss
The Cleveland community is mourning the loss of four young lives. The accident has raised concerns about teen safety, vehicle thefts, and reckless driving. Local officials and community leaders are calling for more education and intervention to prevent similar tragedies.
As the investigation continues, families and friends of the victims are left grieving, searching for answers to the heartbreaking accident that took four young lives far too soon.
