Kemani Smalls Obituary, Death – Authorities in New York City are investigating a double shooting that occurred Sunday night in the Pelham Parkway area, leaving one man dead and another wounded.
According to the NYPD, the incident took place at 2179 White Plains Road just before 8 p.m. when two men were shot in the back. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found a 32-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was conscious and reported that he had been walking on the sidewalk when he suddenly heard gunshots. Moments later, he felt pain and realized he had been struck. Emergency responders transported him to NYC Health + Hospitals Jacobi, where he was listed in stable condition.
Shortly after, police were informed by hospital staff that another gunshot victim had arrived at the facility independently. The second victim, later identified as 33-year-old Kemani Smalls, had also been shot at the same location. Despite receiving medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries.
The NYPD is actively searching for the suspect responsible for the shooting. Authorities have not yet released details on a possible motive or description of the shooter.
