Kevin L. Curry Jr. Obituary, Death – A man who was fatally struck by a pickup truck while running across Interstate 55 near Shirley has been identified as 28-year-old Kevin L. Curry Jr. of Detroit, Michigan, according to McLean County Coroner Kathleen Yoder.
Authorities responded to the scene after receiving a report of a fatal crash at approximately 10:53 a.m. on Thursday. Emergency responders, including the Illinois State Police, Dale Township Fire and Rescue, Bloomington Fire Department, and McLean County Sheriff’s Office, arrived at the location to assist.
Curry sustained multiple blunt force injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:11 a.m., Yoder confirmed.
The circumstances surrounding why Curry was running across the interstate remain unclear, and the incident is currently under investigation by the coroner’s office and the Illinois State Police. Further details have not yet been released.
