Khadime Sow Obituary, Death – The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has identified Khadime Sow, 34, as the second driver who died in a fatal two-vehicle crash on Thanksgiving morning in Columbus’ Southeast Side near Pickerington. The incident occurred at the intersection of Gender Road and Abbey Trails Drive on Thursday, November 28, 2024.
Sow was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:23 a.m., according to the coroner’s office. The crash also claimed the life of 37-year-old Cofield Brown, who was identified earlier by Columbus police. Brown was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital following the collision but was pronounced dead shortly after, at 11:59 a.m. the same morning.
Columbus police provided preliminary details about the crash, stating that Brown was driving a white Honda Accord southbound on Gender Road as he approached the intersection with Abbey Trails Drive. At some point, his vehicle collided with a gray Chevrolet Cruze driven by Sow. However, authorities have not yet disclosed the direction Sow was traveling at the time of the crash or offered additional details about the circumstances leading to the collision.
Investigations are ongoing as officials work to piece together the events that resulted in this tragic accident. Both Sow and Brown’s deaths mark a somber note for the community during the Thanksgiving holiday, and further updates are anticipated as more information becomes available.
