Landyn Reyes Obituary, Death – Sheriff Salazar provided information on a fatal shooting that occurred over the weekend, involving a 17-year-old victim. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) reported that officers were called to a residence near the 3900 block of Rock Mill Dam on the far West Side just before 1 am on Sunday. Prior to their arrival, reports indicated that approximately 20 shots were fired in and around the backyard of the home. Throughout the evening, BCSO had responded to calls from various parties.
Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered the victim, 17-year-old Landyn Reyes, deceased in the backyard from an apparent gunshot wound. Sheriff Salazar highlighted a concerning trend among teenagers utilizing vacant homes for parties, often publicizing the events on social media. This has led to gatherings where underage individuals engage in risky behaviors such as alcohol consumption, drug use, and brandishing firearms.
BCSO is encouraging the community to report any suspicious activities, particularly in unoccupied homes, characterized by large gatherings, loud music, and vehicle congregations. Additionally, homebuilders are advised to enhance security measures in new residential areas to deter such incidents. As of now, law enforcement has no leads on the identity of the shooter, and the party was attended by a significant number of individuals. BCSO urges the public to come forward with any relevant information by contacting the authorities at 210-335-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP.
