Leslie H. Saltsman Obituary, Death – A fatal logging accident in Fort Ann has claimed the life of a local man, whose identity has now been released by authorities.
New York State Police confirmed that 76-year-old Leslie H. Saltsman of Fort Ann was the victim of the tragic incident. The accident occurred in a remote, wooded area off State Route 149 late in the afternoon. Emergency responders were alerted around 4:30 p.m. and arrived at the scene to find Saltsman trapped beneath a fallen tree, more than half a mile from the roadway.
Upon assessment, officials determined that Saltsman had sustained severe injuries. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, but at this time, they do not suspect foul play. The case remains open as officials continue to gather information about what led to the accident.
