Luis Morale Obituary, Death – The man who tragically died following a shooting in the parking lot of a Woodland Park grocery store on Black Friday has been identified by authorities, who continue to investigate the incident. Officials revealed that the deceased was 28-year-old Luis Morales. The shooting took place in the City Market parking lot on Friday evening, around 5:30 p.m.
According to the Woodland Park Police Department, the altercation leading to the shooting occurred during a child custody exchange between Morales and the mother of his child. Witnesses at the scene reported that during the exchange, Morales threatened the boyfriend of the child’s mother. In response, the boyfriend, who was present, drew a firearm and fired a single shot, which struck Morales.
After being injured, Morales was initially treated at the scene by emergency responders. He was then transported to a hospital in Colorado Springs, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have confirmed that the suspect, a 29-year-old man, remained at the scene after the shooting and has been cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
