Marcos Amaral Obituary, Death News – The coroner’s office of Contra Costa County has confirmed the identity of a motorcyclist who tragically lost his life in a collision in Orinda early Saturday morning. At 12:05 a.m., Marcos Amaral, a 30-year-old resident of Antioch, was riding his motorcycle westbound on state Highway 24, near Saint Stephens Drive, when he collided with a BMW SUV, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Amaral sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His mother shared on social media that he leaves behind a young son, who was “the love of his life.” The driver of the BMW, whose identity has not been released, did not sustain any injuries. Preliminary investigations at the scene suggested that he was driving under the influence, leading to his arrest on suspicion of DUI-related offenses, as reported by the CHP.
