Mark J. Judd Obituary, Death – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the 20-year-old man from Maine who lost his life in a devastating accident in Richmond earlier this month. The incident occurred on Route 201, just north of Thorofare Road, on August 3.
According to the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office, Mark J. Judd, a resident of Richmond, was operating a Chevrolet Silverado when he drifted to the right, subsequently overcorrecting and crossing into the lane of an oncoming Ford F-250, which was being driven by a 58-year-old man from Richmond.
The driver of the Ford F-250 attempted to evade the collision but was unsuccessful. Deputies reported that the impact caused the Ford F-250 to overturn, while Judd’s vehicle ended up in a ditch, igniting in flames.
Judd was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Ford F-250 sustained minor injuries.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
