Martha Sheldon Obituary, Death – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual who lost their life in a tragic multi-vehicle accident at the base of the Sagamore Bridge on Friday. According to the Massachusetts State Police, 19-year-old Paul Myers was operating his vehicle in the left lane of Route 6 West when he attempted to illegally overtake another vehicle by moving into the right lane.
Myers’ vehicle collided with a Toyota Corolla that was already travelling in the right lane, resulting in the Corolla striking the curb, spinning across the median, and ultimately colliding with a vehicle heading in the opposite direction.
The incident led to the death of 79-year-old Martha Sheldon, who was a passenger in the Corolla alongside an 83-year-old man who sustained serious injuries.
Myers has been arrested on suspicion of operating under the influence. As of approximately midnight on Saturday, state police reported that all lanes had been reopened.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
