Marvin Darrius Smith Jr Obituary, Death – An investigation is currently underway regarding the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old individual at a gas station in Talladega. On Saturday, law enforcement officials identified the deceased as Marvin Darrius Smith Jr. The incident occurred on Thursday at the Chevron station on Broadway Avenue, as Lt. Dennis M. Daniel reported.
Smith, who sustained injuries from the shooting, was transported to Citizens Baptist Medical Center, where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries. According to McDaniel, the tragic event arose from a physical altercation between Smith and a 17-year-old inside the establishment.
Further details have yet to be disclosed, and no charges have been filed at this time.
The investigation is being supported by the Jacksonville State Center for Applied Forensics, the Talladega County District Attorney’s Office, and the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office.
