Matthew Bryan Mills Obituary, Death- A tragic motorcycle accident in Northport has claimed the life of a Tuscaloosa man. Officials have identified the victim as 39-year-old Matthew Bryan Mills, who was involved in a collision while riding his motorcycle on Friday morning.
The crash occurred around 8:17 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the 3100 block of McFarland Boulevard. According to investigators, Mills was operating a 2015 Yamaha Striker motorcycle when he collided with the rear of a 2003 Jeep Liberty.
Emergency responders, including Northport police, fire and rescue crews, and NorthStar Ambulance, arrived at the scene quickly. Mills was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, but despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
The Northport Police Department’s traffic reconstruction unit has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are working to determine what factors may have contributed to the collision, including speed, road conditions, and driver behavior.
