Michael Bachelor Jr, Montay Wade Obituary, Death – The Jefferson County Coroner’s office has released the names of the two men who were fatally shot early Sunday morning in the Highlands. The victims have been identified as Michael Bachelor Jr., 20, and Montay Wade, 29. Bachelor was declared dead at the scene around 2 a.m. due to multiple gunshot wounds. Wade, who also sustained multiple gunshot injuries, was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly afterward.
The shooting occurred around 1:45 a.m. in the 900 block of Baxter Avenue, an area known for its numerous bars and restaurants. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found both Bachelor and Wade with gunshot wounds. A third individual, who had also been shot, arrived at Norton Suburban Hospital shortly after the incident. This person is reported to be in stable condition and expected to survive.
The Louisville Metro Police Department’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into the shooting. At this stage, no suspects have been identified.
