Michael Drummond Obituary, Death – A tragic shooting in South Peoria on Monday night claimed the life of 34-year-old Michael Drummond. Authorities reported that he suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was later pronounced dead at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center.
According to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood, Drummond was shot several times in the 2400 block of West Howett Street. Peoria police responded to a ShotSpotter alert at 8:53 p.m., which detected six rounds fired at the scene. A short time later, additional alerts indicated seven more gunshots in the same area.
Upon arrival, officers found Drummond lying on the ground, unresponsive and not breathing. Despite medical personnel’s efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at 9:47 p.m. The coroner stated that he died instantly from multiple gunshot wounds. As part of routine procedures, toxicology tests are being conducted.
