Mitchell B. Ferebee Obituary, Death – Portland authorities have identified two men who lost their lives in separate traffic collisions in recent days.
The first victim, 54-year-old Mitchell B. Ferebee, was fatally struck by a vehicle on the night of February 27. According to police, Ferebee was walking southbound on Interstate 5 near Northeast Marine Drive when he was hit at approximately 10:40 p.m. The driver of the car, along with a passenger, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Officials have not released their names. Ferebee was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities found no indications that the driver was impaired, and no charges or arrests have been announced in connection to the crash.
The second incident occurred on the evening of March 9 when 86-year-old Lee was killed while crossing Southeast Powell Boulevard at 67th Avenue. A motorcyclist struck Lee at around 9:10 p.m., resulting in fatal injuries. The motorcyclist suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. Police found no signs of impairment and have not made any arrests or filed charges at this time.
These two deaths mark the fourth and fifth traffic fatalities in Portland this year. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
