Nathain Jenkins Obituary, Death – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is currently looking into the shooting death of a man from Valdosta that occurred in Cobb County. As stated in a recent announcement, on Saturday, August 10, the Cobb County Police Department (CCPD) requested the GBI to carry out an independent inquiry regarding an incident in which a man was shot and subsequently killed. It has been confirmed that no officers sustained injuries during this event.
Initial reports indicate that on Friday, August 9, at approximately 11:30 p.m., CCPD officers were in the vicinity of the 2600 block of Cobb Parkway searching for 32-year-old Nathain Jenkins from Valdosta, who had outstanding warrants. Officers located him inside a Walgreens store.
The announcement further details that during the confrontation, CCPD officers discharged their weapons, resulting in Jenkins being transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A handgun belonging to Jenkins was recovered at the scene.
The announcement also mentioned that an autopsy will be conducted by a Cobb County Medical Examiner. Additionally, the GBI will perform an independent interview, and agents are urging any witnesses to come forward with information regarding the events that transpired inside the store.
