Nathan Vogelsang Obituary, Death – Two men from Ripley County, Indiana, were killed in a fatal crash on Tuesday afternoon in southern Indiana. According to Indiana State Police, the incident occurred just before 3 p.m. on US 421 near County Road 100 North, north of Versailles.
The driver, 24-year-old Nathan Vogelsang, was traveling south on US 421 when he lost control of his truck for reasons that are still unclear. His vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a semi-truck driven by 34-year-old Oleh Hrudnenko.
Vogelsang and his passenger, 19-year-old Landen J.W. Comer, both died at the scene of the crash. Hrudnenko, the truck driver, sustained only minor injuries.
As a result of the crash, US 421 was closed for several hours while state police conducted their investigation and cleanup crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash is still under investigation by authorities, although there are no early signs that alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
