Nicholas Thompson Obituary, Death – Hartford police have identified the victim of a fatal hit-and-run crash on Main Street that occurred on Monday evening. The victim, 42-year-old Nicholas Thompson, was found by officers around 8:30 p.m. on the 2000 block of Main Street, lying unresponsive in the roadway. Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department reported that officers immediately began performing lifesaving measures on Thompson until EMS arrived. Despite their efforts, Thompson was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
According to Boisvert, Thompson was riding his bicycle southbound on Main Street when he was struck by a vehicle from behind. The driver of the car did not stop after hitting Thompson but continued driving, eventually striking a parked car. After the second crash, the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene on foot.
The police are continuing their investigation into the incident, though Boisvert mentioned that no further updates were available immediately on Tuesday. At this point, the identity of the driver remains unknown, and authorities are asking the public for any information that could help with the investigation.
