Osmar Rodarte Obituary, Death News – Authorities have identified the gunman involved in the fatal shootout that claimed the life of a Marysville police officer during a drug raid.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that 60-year-old Rick David Oliver of Olivehurst was the suspect killed in the exchange of gunfire.
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning when a SWAT team was executing a search warrant as part of a large-scale drug operation on Kestrel Court in Olivehurst. During the raid, gunfire erupted, resulting in the deaths of both Oliver and 25-year-old Officer Osmar Rodarte.
Officials stated that Oliver’s residence was one of several locations targeted in an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking and firearm-related crimes.
Authorities have indicated that it may take months before additional details about the deadly shootout are released. The case remains under review as officials work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
