Pricilla Febus Obituary, Death – A tragic apartment fire in Burke County claimed the life of a 51-year-old woman early Sunday morning, according to the Department of Public Safety. Authorities identified the victim as Pricilla Febus.
The fire broke out around 6 a.m. on March 23 at the Forest View Apartments, located along Lenoir Road in Morganton. When emergency responders arrived, they found a second-floor corner apartment engulfed in heavy smoke and flames, prompting immediate evacuation of nearby units for safety.
Firefighters quickly worked to bring the blaze under control. During their efforts, they discovered Febus inside the burning apartment, where she was pronounced dead at the scene. Suppression efforts continued until the flames were fully contained. Officials confirmed that the fire was restricted to the affected unit and did not spread to other apartments in the complex.
Following an investigation, authorities determined that the fire was caused by electrical issues. The American Red Cross was called in to assist families who were displaced due to the emergency response and evacuations.
