Randall Kern, Marichu Kern Obituary, Death – The individuals who tragically lost their lives in a collision at the intersection of Stowell and Bradley Roads in Santa Maria on August 1 have been named as Randall Kern, aged 68, and Marichu Kern, aged 55, both residents of Santa Maria. As reported by the Santa Maria Police Department, Randall Kern was travelling south on Bradley Road around 9:15 a.m. At the time, he was said to have a green light at the Stowell Road intersection. However, a vehicle heading east on Stowell allegedly disregarded the red light and collided with the passenger side of Kern’s car.
Both Randall and Marichu Kern were transported to Marian Regional Medical Center, where they succumbed to their injuries. The other driver involved, identified as 20-year-old Edith Gomez Camarillo, reportedly suffered minor injuries. Authorities indicate that she remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
At this stage, it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident. The police are urging anyone with further information regarding the incident to contact Officer D. Rhoads at (805) 928-3781 ext. 1355.
