Rico Benavidez Obituary, Death – The pedestrian who tragically lost his life in a crash early Sunday morning has been identified as 25-year-old Rico Benavidez of Crete by the Lincoln Police Department. Benavidez and another individual were walking near Denton Road and 1st Street at 12:55 a.m. when a westbound Toyota GR86 turned left to avoid hitting the other pedestrian but, unfortunately, struck Benavidez.
Emergency responders provided assistance at the scene, and Benavidez was taken to a Lincoln hospital, where he later passed away. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, and as of now, no citations have been issued.
