Rodolfo Daniel Lima Obituary, Death – A deadly incident involving Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies is under investigation after a man allegedly fired at officers and was fatally shot. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is examining the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which occurred early Saturday morning at a residence on the 100 block of Scott Creek Road in Crossville.
Deputies were dispatched to the location in response to reports of gunfire. Upon arriving, they encountered a man, later identified as 22-year-old Rodolfo Daniel Lima, standing in the driveway armed with a handgun. According to the TBI, deputies repeatedly ordered Lima to drop his weapon, but he refused to comply.
Preliminary reports indicate that Lima fired his weapon in the direction of the deputies. In response, one of the deputies discharged their firearm, striking Lima. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
