Ronald Litzinger Obituary, Death – A fatal motorcycle crash in Summit Township, Butler County, claimed the life of a 43-year-old man on Saturday morning.
Emergency responders were dispatched to Route 422 just after 11 a.m. following reports of a crash, according to Butler County dispatch. Upon arrival, officials confirmed that one person had died, and a medical helicopter that had been called to the scene was later canceled.
According to a Pennsylvania State Police report, the motorcyclist, identified as Ronald Litzinger, was traveling westbound on Route 422 when he lost control, crossing both the left and right lanes before crashing into a guardrail. Authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
PA State Trooper Cazy posted an update on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating that “SR 422 westbound is shut down at the Mitchell Hill exit in Butler County due to a fatal crash.” The closure lasted for several hours before the roadway reopened at 3 p.m.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the motorcycle began wobbling violently before colliding with the guardrail. Investigators also noted that Litzinger was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
