Salvador Sanchez Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the man who was fatally shot at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks early Sunday morning. The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the victim was 35-year-old Salvador Sanchez.
Sanchez sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and his death has been classified as a homicide. Officials believe he was experiencing homelessness at the time of the incident.
The shooting took place shortly before 5 a.m. inside the casino, located at 1100 Nugget Avenue. According to Sparks police, officers were already present at the casino on an unrelated matter when they heard gunfire coming from the lobby. Upon arrival, they discovered Sanchez suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Renown Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Shortly after the incident, a 19-year-old man arrived at a hospital in a private vehicle with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Investigators believe the shooting resulted from an altercation between the two armed men.
